And Extraordinary Popular Delusion
Some in clandestine companies combine;
Erect new stocks to trade beyond the line;
With air and empty names beguile the town,
And raise new credits first, then cry ’em down,
Divide the empty nothing into shares,
And set the crowd together by the ear.
-Defoe, as quoted by Charles Mackay
Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it, or so wise men have said. Charles Mackay as long ago as 1841 wrote a book about the follies of mankind titled: Extraordinary Popular Delusions And The Madness Of Crowds. He was limited to such minor absurdities as The Great Mississippi Bubble, Tulipomania and other such maniac trifles. We ourselves can offer the absurdity of The Great Negro Delusion.
One phenomenon of the Negro Delusion has been unfairly apportioned to the Whites of the United States while Europeans are equally at fault and that is the Great ‘Minority’ Housing Bubble in which Whites persuaded themselves that Black people with inadequate incomes could pay back expensive mortgages simply because they were Black.
Out of this Minority Housing Bubble arose the avatar of the Black Savior, Barack Obama. Whites persuaded themselves that Brack Obama was capable of not only governing the United States but also able to deliver the world from all its ills. The reason? Well, he’s Black. His mere skin color was imagined to be an antidote to the world’s woes.
Nevermind that as an agent of ACORN in Chicago he had been instrumental in developing the Great Minority Housing Bubble thereby establishing the fact that he was incapable of administering the economic affairs of this Republic of Diversity, never mind that he had no qualifications other than being a ‘community organizer’. No. Nevermind the fact that he had no qualifications. None. The important thing is that he was a Negro. Whites had convinced themselves that Black was right, White? Time for flight.
And so it has come about that Negromania has brought about the destruction of society as we knew it. Well, France in an almost identical situation survived the Mississippi Bubble after bankrupting themselves and I’m sure that in one form or another the world will survive the Western World’s Negromania but it will be a very different world and who knows what travails are in store for us.
Wise men said beware but wise men were called bigots. If being wise is being a bigot that the word must be worn as a badge of honor. We’re not quite at post-history yet.
